Nová Říše

The main feature of the village is the Baroque Church of St. Peter and Paul. A Premonstratansian monastery was founded here in 1211. The monastery’s enormous library, containing over fifteen thousand volumes, is decorated by ceiling frescoes. Nová Říše is the birthplace and home of important musicians Vraniczký and Novák, and poet Otokar Březina.
